The world's first ultra-thin VR head-mounted 3Glasses X1 released with BOE Fast-LCD screen Date:2019-05-17 / Written by: Topfoison / Read: 996

Summary: The most obvious difference between the 3Glasses X1 and other VR heads on the market is its small size, thin and light, due to its ultra-short-focus optical solution. In terms of optical parameters, the X1 uses two BOE 2.1-inch Fast-LCD screens with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, a response time of 6 ms, a resolution of 2400×1200 (one eye 1200x1200), a ppi pixel density of 806, and a monocular field of view of 88.6 degrees ( The eyes are 105 degrees) and have a diopter adjustment function with an adjustment range of up to 600 degrees. Obviously, this is due to the fact that the ultra-thin body cannot allow the user to wear glasses.

Chinese VR manufacturer 3Glasses held a new product and industry strategy conference called “Seeing”. Ms. Wang Jie, CEO of 3Glasses, and Mr. Xie An, CEO and Executive Director of Digital Kingdom, jointly released the world's first consumer-grade ultra-thin VR glasses “3Glasses X1” and the matching split computing unit 3Box A2.

The most obvious difference between the 3Glasses X1 and other VR heads on the market is its small size, thin and light, due to its ultra-short-focus optical solution.

As a very thin and light VR device, the 3Glasses X1 does not integrate the computing unit in the head-end position. So the default computing performance of the modified product is actually done by the 3Box A2, a host with a neck-mounted design. 3Box A2 weighs about 400g, its built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 chip, no accident should be the mid-range chip that supports 3Dof in the series, the performance is similar to the Snapdragon 600 series chip, of course, there is no baseband; storage is 4GB memory +32GB storage, in addition to support 128GB memory card expansion, built-in 5400mAh battery, battery life of about 3-4 hours, can be connected to X1 headphone via USB Type C.

In terms of content, Ms. Wang Jie, CEO of 3Glasses, said that 3Glasses' VR products are compatible with digital kingdoms, iQiyi VR and many other platforms. Currently, it can provide more than 300 games and more than 2,000 video resources for consumers.

In addition to hardware products, 3Glasses also announced a strategic agreement with the comic company Dark Horse Comics for IP VR; and VR content publishers with offline VR theaters and embarking on the offline VR theme business The "Digital Kingdom Space", the "top number playing coffee" with the large space VR manufacturer, and the Internet cafe enterprise Shunwang Technology completed the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement and officially announced the creation of the "first experience after payment" B2B2C experience VR industry sales model.

At the same time, the 3Glasses ODM business was announced at the launch conference, which will jointly open ultra-thin VR optical modules with BOE to promote innovation in the VR industry.

It is understood that in the field of VR head display, BOE currently accounts for 80% of the global market share. In the Fast-LCD product line for the VR field, BOE has shipped a large number of 3.5-inch single-lens 1.5K resolution and 5.5-inch single-eye QHD resolution.
